About The Position

JCPenney Salon is seeking a Hair Stylist to provide professional styling services and create a superior client experience. Stylists determine clients’ needs and provide services including current haircuts, finishing, and chemical services. The role emphasizes building a client base, working with salon team members, and participating in a learning environment. Compensation includes hourly pay of $15.00–$16.00, with service commissions and other incentives subject to credential level, sales, productivity, and eligibility.

Requirements

Maintain a current cosmetology license in the state of application.
Demonstrate self-motivation, flexibility, people skills, and a passion for the beauty industry.
Ability to build a client base and partner with salon team members.
Willingness to participate in a learning environment.
Ability to provide great customer service and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
Ability to make sound decisions, work efficiently, and act with energy and urgency.

Responsibilities

Determine clients’ needs and provide professional styling services, including haircuts, finishing, and chemical services.
Build a client base and respond to clients’ expectations through listening and interaction.
Partner with salon team members.
Deliver strong customer service and take accountability for actions and outcomes.
Solve problems and make decisions that support sales, profit, and customer service.
Work efficiently and effectively, and proactively seek ways to improve the customer experience.
Participate in a learning environment and maintain professional styling skills.
