GYN Oncology Nurse Navigator
About The Position
BJC Healthcare and Washington University Physicians provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary gynecologic cancer care. The GYN Oncology Nurse Navigator acts as a patient advocate, providing education, support, and interventions related to cancer prevention and early detection and helping patients navigate diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. The navigator works with physicians to identify and carry out treatment plans and facilitates clinical protocols established by Medical Directors. The position is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, holidays, or call. A BSN is required. Three years of RN experience and OBGYN and/or oncology experience are preferred. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate with multiple teams are also preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Strong collaboration skills and communication with multiple teams.
Nice To Haves
- Three years of RN experience preferred.
- OBGYN and/or oncology experience preferred.
- OCN certification.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Medical Director and other physicians to identify and carry out the treatment plan.
- Advocate for patients and help them navigate diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Serve as a resource for patients and families, other professionals, and the community.
- Provide education for the community and referring physicians.
- Facilitate clinical protocols established by Medical Director(s).
