About The Position

Guitar Center’s mission is to develop and nurture lifelong musicians and help people experience the joy of creating music. The Guitar Technician (Luthier), also described as a Repair Technician (Guitar), performs maintenance and repairs on customer-owned instruments and helps maintain designated store inventory. The role supports business growth through excellent customer experiences and high-quality workmanship.

Successful technicians provide attentive, knowledgeable customer service, take initiative to identify and resolve issues, build product and store-operations knowledge, and communicate techniques effectively when training others. They may also complete Guitar Center’s certification program to develop foundational product and sales knowledge.

Requirements

• Skilled understanding of guitar repair.
• Ability to provide an excellent customer experience and connect meaningfully with customers.
• Ability to identify opportunities and issues, follow through, learn quickly, and take action independently.
• Ability to effectively train learners and communicate information and techniques.

• Foundational product knowledge of Guitar Center products.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Service customer-owned instruments with a high level of craftsmanship.
• Maintain store-owned gear as requested.
• Complete warranty repair work.
• Train learners and communicate information and techniques effectively.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
