About The Position

This position is for DPS Student Teachers Only. Students Teachers may also be a Guest Teacher with DPS. While working as a Guest Teacher, you are able to fill in for your teacher of record; following lesson plans, managing the classroom, and maintaining a productive learning environment. Depending on classroom need, you may need to adapt to different grades and subjects to support students' learning. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be completing your Student Teaching in DPS.

Requirements

  • Must be completing your Student Teaching in DPS.
  • Have ONE of the following valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Licenses (DPS does accept a CDE Application Receipt for 90 days.): 1 year or 3 year Substitute Authorization, Initial Teaching License, Professional Teaching License or 5 year Substitute Teaching License
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in Education or related preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize students for effective instruction and learning while maintaining classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students.
  • Motivate student learning and academic participation while ensuring the integrity of academic time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school Principal.
