About The Position

The Guest Service Attendant provides service to patients, including transportation and escorting, meal and snack delivery, linen and tableware setup, and light cleaning. This is a part-time night position at Mount Sinai Hospital in the KP8 Amenity Unit, scheduled from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., every other weekend.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED.
0–1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

Advise patients of diet changes and related menu changes in coordination with nursing and nutrition.
Assist patients and their guests with menu selection.
Deliver newspapers and magazines daily.
Damp and sanitize surfaces as needed.
Deliver meals, including meals from the Kosher Kitchen, to patient rooms or designated dining areas and set up appropriate table linen.
Escort ambulatory patients to and from areas outside the unit.
Fill refrigerators with nourishment appropriate to the patient's diet upon request.
Maintain control of a patient's chart while the patient is off the unit and release charts only to authorized personnel.
Coordinate with nursing to ensure patients are ready to receive meal deliveries.
Offer patients appropriate menus after consulting with nursing and nutrition.
Spot-clean walls, windows, furniture, and other items as needed.
Stock deliveries to the floor as requested.
Transport patients by stretcher or wheelchair to and from, or outside, the unit.
Transport patients' belongings and luggage to and from the unit.
Provide patients with needed items, such as linens, unit literature, and related items.
