About The Position

CocoNene is seeking curious, engaged Guest Experience Associates for its flagship International Market Place store in Waikīkī. This is active, hands-on retail work involving movement throughout the store, conversations with guests, product personalization, and support for teammates as priorities change. Register work is one part of the role; active guest engagement is central to every shift.

The role offers guaranteed base pay of $20 per hour. After completing initial training, eligible teammates can earn an additional $2 per hour for all hours worked on days the store meets its daily sales-per-customer goal; this bonus is not guaranteed. Team members receive paid parking at International Market Place and merchandise discounts across CocoNene’s sister brands. Full-time benefits include medical coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off, subject to eligibility. Team members who demonstrate conversational Japanese sufficient to assist guests with products and purchases receive an additional $1 per hour; Japanese is helpful but not required.

CocoNene will teach products, selling skills, and performance measures through demonstration, practice, and feedback. The company expects teammates to take ownership of their growth. Development may include deeper skills, training others, leadership, or contributions beyond the store, depending on readiness and business needs. The position requires night availability and at least one weekend day. The store operates year-round, including holidays, and the work involves substantial standing and movement. Full-time and part-time teammates share the same standards.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests, ask thoughtful questions, and recommend products that fit their interests.
• Share product stories, artist connections, and the local manufacturing process.
• Help guests explore personalization and create meaningful gifts.
• Contribute to shared sales goals through helpful service and relevant recommendations.
• Notice guests and teammates who need support and take action.
• Keep displays stocked and inviting; assist with wrapping, register transactions, and opening and closing.
• Apply coaching, practice new approaches, and take increasing ownership.
