About The Position

The Guest Advisor is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience by providing attentive, knowledgeable, and efficient food and beverage service. This role serves as a primary point of contact for guests, guiding them through menu selections, accurately taking and delivering orders, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience in compliance with Massachusetts wage, tip, and service regulations.

Requirements

  • Prior restaurant or guest service experience preferred.
  • TIPS certification required (or ability to obtain- appx $40)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a high volume environment.
  • Familiarity with point of sale (POS) systems.
  • Ability to manage cash and payments accurately.
  • Professional appearance, punctuality, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly and establish a welcoming, professional rapport.
  • Engage guests to understand preferences, special occasions, allergies, or dietary restrictions.
  • Provide accurate menu descriptions, recommendations, and pairing suggestions.
  • Anticipate guest needs and deliver personalized, attentive service.
  • Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly, ensuring correct presentation and temperature.
  • Monitor tables throughout service, refilling beverages and addressing requests or concerns.
  • Clear and reset tables efficiently to support smooth service flow.
  • Present guest checks in a timely manner.
  • Accurately process cash and electronic payments in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accountability for cash handling and transactions.
  • Collaborate with hosts, kitchen staff, and fellow servers to ensure seamless service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned service stations.
  • Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
