Clay Clubs and the Slack community are central to the Go-to-Market Engineering (GTME) community, serving as a hub for networking, career opportunities, and idea exchange. This role is described as a 'mini-founder' position, requiring an obsessive focus on improving the community experience, similar to how a founder treats their earliest users. The role involves owning club quality, digital community health, the integration between online and offline community experiences, operational systems for global clubs, GTME integration with internal teams, and member quality.

Requirements

  • Experienced community builder with taste, ideally with experience building community both professionally and personally.
  • Ability to distinguish between authentic and performative community building.
  • Systems thinker who understands when and why to implement systems, rather than for their own sake.
  • Operator who actively participates in community, shows up, and enjoys doing the work.
  • Warm, humble, and passionately dedicated individual.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity, as there is no established playbook for this type of community.
  • Proven track record of building or scaling something real with impact.

  • Experience as a strategist who also executes.
  • Willingness to run scrappy experiments before building systems.
  • Ability to embrace a loud, opinionated, and sometimes messy community.
  • Willingness to make hard decisions regarding community programs and member spotlighting.

Responsibilities

  • Help scale Clay Clubs globally by defining great Club event standards and building systems for 84+ chapters.
  • Re-energize the digital community (Slack) by creating programs and structures to maintain intimacy despite scaling to 30,000+ members.
  • Build systems and processes to manage operations for over 84 IRL chapters worldwide.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from in-person (IRL) events to online (URL) engagement.
  • Act as the internal 'megaphone' for the community, surfacing GTME feedback to Sales, CX, Marketing, and Product teams, and vice versa.
  • Partner on international expansion efforts, leveraging Clubs and digital community events.
