Clay's Startup Programs, which include the Startup GTM Accelerator Wedge and Campus Ambassador program, aim to enable and upskill startups and students with Clay's product. The Startup Programs Lead will be responsible for the operations, scaling, improvement, marketing, and ideation of these existing programs, as well as developing new ones. Reporting to the Startup Ecosystem Lead, this role involves setting a vision for the programs, systematizing operations, gathering feedback, and driving continuous iteration and improvement. A deep passion for supporting startups and empathy for their journey are essential, with a focus on working with startup founders, GTM leaders, and students.

  • Feel deep personal ownership over the quality, growth, and impact of work, especially relationships.
  • Exhibit keen attention to detail and a proactive presence (e.g., active in Slack channels, hosting events, sharing work online).
  • Be a 'Clay nerd' with a passion for learning about new GTM tools and teaching others, staying up-to-date on the GTM tool landscape and Clay's fit for scaling startups.
  • Be a systems thinker, considering the multiplier effect of different programs and teams, and comfortable building playbooks from scratch.
  • Demonstrate proven ambition, having previously applied a founder mentality to building something (in an operating role or independently).
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity, as the Startup Ecosystem vertical is a new function to be built.
  • Possess expertise in Clay and be excited to learn about new features and communicate them.
  • Be willing to roll up your sleeves and travel across the US and EMEA to connect with startup ecosystems globally.

Responsibilities

  • Become a Clay expert on startup-focused workflows to answer questions from founders, GTM leaders, and students.
  • Run day-to-day communications and operations for existing startup programs and create new ones, serving as the point of contact for participants.
  • Be responsible for outcomes and build relationships with program alumni.
  • Help produce startup-focused events (workshops, livestreams, panels, hackathons, etc.) to assist with enablement and build brand awareness with the startup community globally.
  • Represent Clay in the field and online as a conduit for education, awareness, and affinity for Clay for startups.
  • Create content, marketing materials, assets, and new startup communications like a newsletter to promote startup programs and share success stories.
  • Develop the startup funnel by working with lifecycle, GTM ops, sales, and other teams to integrate startup programs into campaigns and ecosystem distribution to drive interest and reach new customers.
