Recruiter

Northwestern Mutual-Twin Cities•Bloomington, MN
•$75,000 - $115,000•Onsite

About The Position

We’re looking for a Growth Partner to join our Bloomington office and work alongside our Managing Director and leadership team to build the future of our firm. This isn’t a traditional recruiting role. You’ll be at the center of our growth—building relationships, creating connections in the community, and introducing talented career changers to a career in financial advising that can change the trajectory of their lives. You’ll spend your days talking with interesting people, learning what motivates them, understanding where they want to go, and helping them determine whether financial advising could be the right next step. You’ll build your network through referrals, community relationships, centers of influence, and online sourcing tools—and you’ll own those relationships from the first conversation through the recruiting process. Most importantly, you’ll become a trusted partner to our leadership team. You’ll help us identify the right people, create momentum around our recruiting efforts, and ultimately help grow a team that makes a meaningful impact on the clients and communities we serve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience, preferably in recruiting, sales, business development, relationship management, or a related field.
  • Experience prospecting and generating leads through phone, networking, or face-to-face interactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with people at all levels.
  • Familiarity with sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Handshake.

Nice To Haves

  • An established personal or professional network and involvement in the community are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of talented career changers through referrals, personal and professional networks, community relationships, centers of influence, and online sourcing platforms.
  • Become genuinely curious about people—their experiences, ambitions, strengths, and what they want from their careers.
  • Create meaningful first conversations that help candidates understand the opportunity and envision what could be possible.
  • Build trusted relationships with candidates throughout the recruiting process and serve as a consistent point of connection.
  • Develop referral partnerships and community relationships that generate qualified candidates.
  • Collaborate with other Northwestern Mutual recruiters to share ideas, leads, relationships, and best practices.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and leadership team to execute the office’s recruiting strategy and growth goals.
  • Bring energy, ideas, and creativity to how we attract talent and build our presence in the community.
  • Help leadership identify opportunities to expand our talent network and strengthen our recruiting efforts.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and provide visibility into recruiting activity, pipeline, and results.
  • Source, screen, and schedule candidates for initial interviews.
  • Guide candidates through each stage of the recruiting process with strong communication and follow-through.
  • Administer screening tools and maintain accurate candidate information and activity.
  • Track recruiting activity and results using firm-supported systems and technology.
  • Analyze recruiting activity and ratios to identify opportunities to improve the process.
  • Support contract and licensing responsibilities as needed.
