About The Position

This position is responsible for processing all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, fax, or mail. The role involves identifying guest reservation needs, determining appropriate room types, and verifying availability and rates. The Groups Coordinator will explain guarantee, special rate, and cancellation policies, accommodate and document special requests, and answer questions about property facilities and services. The role also requires utilizing sales techniques to maximize revenue, communicating information regarding designated VIP reservations, and inputting and accessing data in the reservation system. Additionally, the position involves responding to challenges in accommodating rooming requests by communicating with the appropriate individual or department, overseeing the accuracy of room blocks and reservations, inputting group rooming lists, revising room blocks, and setting up billing accounts according to Accounting policies. The role also requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality, protecting company assets, and providing excellent guest service. This includes welcoming and acknowledging guests, anticipating and addressing service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking guests with appreciation. Communication skills are essential, including speaking clearly and professionally, preparing and reviewing written documents accurately, and answering telephones with appropriate etiquette. The position also involves developing and maintaining positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and listening and responding appropriately to employee concerns. Compliance with quality assurance expectations and standards, and the ability to read and visually verify information in various formats are also required. Physical demands include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable job duties may be requested by supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.

Responsibilities
