About The Position

The Group Leader-S&R First Shift oversees shipping and receiving activities, including inspecting cooler and freezer conditions, coordinating truck drivers and inbound/outbound appointments, and verifying shipping and receiving documentation. The role receives meat combos according to production priorities, delegates and verifies employee assignments, and enters required shipping and receiving information into SAP and the GSQA website. The Group Leader also supports inventory and cycle counts, maintains equipment and dock areas, and ensures employees follow GMP and safety practices.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Forklift certified.
• At least 1 year of job experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect cooler and freezer conditions at the beginning of the shift and throughout the day.
• Sign in and out truck drivers, collect pertinent information, and provide instructions.
• Verify the Bill of Lading matches the Certificate of Analysis before receiving shipments.
• Verify lot numbers on all received combos.
• Receive meat combos according to production priorities.
• Delegate assignments to employees and verify that assignments are completed.
• Enter shipping information in the SAP system.
• Ensure the receiving scale works properly and calibrate it daily.
• Schedule inbound and outbound appointments.
• Verify all shipping and receiving paperwork.
• Verify employee initials are entered correctly.
• Process goods receipts.
• Enter information into the GSQA website.
• Help perform weekly cycle counts of finished product and packaging materials, excluding Box inventory.
• Inspect forklift batteries and recharge them.
• Perform or verify trailer movements and changes.
• Perform freezer inventory.
• Rotate employee job assignments.
• Ensure employees follow GMPs and safety practices.
• Ensure the spotter is in good working condition.
• Investigate internal incidents and report them to the Supervisor immediately.
• Ensure only authorized personnel drive forklifts.
• Ensure employees complete forklift inspection sheets daily.
• Conduct 5S audits.
• Keep the inside and outside dock areas clean.
• Keep the finished goods freezer clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
