Groundskeeper - Casa del Valle
About The Position
The Groundskeeper maintains the buildings and grounds of an ACC student housing community, including common areas and amenities, to support cleanliness and curb appeal. The role involves interior and exterior cleaning, groundskeeping, and assisting the service team with maintenance, apartment make-ready work, property turnover, and pool maintenance when applicable. Training is provided, and there may be opportunities to gain certifications and develop professionally by supporting nearby properties or through on-the-job training. The ideal candidate is reliable and detail-oriented, with experience in or willingness to learn general labor and apartment maintenance. Candidates should be able to follow multi-step instructions, work safely, and help maintain a well-presented property. Prior facilities maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
Requirements
- Ability to drive a golf cart.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of general labor, housekeeping, and cleaning tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, including understanding and following MSDS rules for handling and using chemicals.
- Ability to understand and carry out written or verbal multi-step instructions.
- Reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work safely.
- Prior facilities maintenance experience is helpful but not required; training is provided.

Responsibilities
- Clean the interior and exterior of the property to standard.
- Maintain property grounds, including collecting trash.
- Vacuum, mop, and/or shampoo floors in resident rooms and common areas, and stock bathrooms.
- Assist the service team with work orders, moving furniture, and unloading and storing supplies.
- Support apartment make-ready duties, including trash outs, cleaning, and painting.
- Assist in the property turnover process.
- Support the service team with pool maintenance, if applicable, and pressure washing.
- Safely operate facility equipment in accordance with safety protocols and best practices.
- Help keep shops, storage areas, and back-of-house environments clean and orderly, with tools and supplies organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Represent American Campus and serve as a liaison in all interactions.
- Follow the Photo, Video and Voice Recording Policy; certain work activities may be recorded for quality control or training.
