Groundskeeper - Lobo VIllage
About The Position
The Groundskeeper maintains buildings and grounds, including common areas and amenities, to help preserve the curb appeal of an ACC student housing community. The role supports the cleanliness and upkeep of interior and exterior property areas. Training is provided, and employees may have opportunities to gain certifications and grow their careers through on-the-job training or by supporting nearby properties. The position requires a reliable, detail-oriented person who can follow multi-step instructions and work safely. Prior facilities maintenance experience is helpful but not required. The Groundskeeper also represents American Campus Communities in interactions and contributes to a culture of inclusion, diversity, equality, accountability, and pride in the community.
Requirements
- Ability to drive a golf cart.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of general labor, housekeeping, and cleaning tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to understand and follow MSDS rules for handling and using chemicals.
- Ability to understand and carry out written or verbal multi-step instructions.
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Nice To Haves
- Prior facilities maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
- Experience in or willingness to learn general labor and apartment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Clean the interior and exterior of the property to established standards.
- Maintain property grounds, including collecting trash.
- Vacuum, mop, and/or shampoo floors in resident rooms and common areas, and stock bathrooms.
- Assist the service team with work orders, moving furniture, and unloading and storing supplies.
- Support apartment make-ready duties, including trash outs, cleaning, and painting.
- Assist with the property turnover process.
- Support pool maintenance, if applicable, and pressure washing.
- Safely operate facility equipment in accordance with safety protocols and best practices.
- Keep shops, storage areas, and back-of-house environments clean and orderly, with tools and supplies organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Represent American Campus Communities and serve as a liaison in interactions.
- Follow the Photo, Video and Voice Recording Policy; certain activities may be recorded for quality control or training.
