About The Position

The Grounds Supervisor I is a supervisory and hands-on technical role responsible for the maintenance, safety, and aesthetic appearance of more than 20 acres of facility grounds. This position leads a team of grounds personnel and collaborates with other skilled trades to ensure the optimal upkeep of exterior spaces. Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is one of three state-operated facilities serving adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability. The health and physical status of these residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living. Our Mission Statement: We are a specialized long-term care facility focusing on maintaining quality of life and dignity for adults with neurocognitive or neurodevelopmental disorders with coexisting complex medical and behavioral needs whose level of support extends beyond that which can be provided in family or community living settings. Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of progressive experience in grounds upkeep; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with fertilization methods and with trimming trees and shrubs.
  • Demonstrated experience with training others on the safe and proper use and maintenance of grounds equipment.
  • Three (3) years of demonstrated experience supervising others.
  • Demonstrated experience with the cleaning and repair of on-campus streets and parking lots.
  • Demonstrated experience with inventory control of equipment and supplies.
