About The Position

The Grounds Shop is seeking student employees to support Grounds Shop staff during the spring semester. Employees may work up to 24 hours per week and report to the Shop Supervisor, who provides ongoing verbal feedback in place of formal evaluations. Student employees receive a list of expectations at the beginning of employment and are expected to meet those expectations and applicable University standards and policies throughout their employment.

Work is available Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., with flexibility to accommodate class schedules. A valid driver’s license and driving-record background check are required before hire if the student will drive vehicles, including campus carts. Student employees must successfully complete Campus Safety’s online driver safety training before driving on campus for this position.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and consent to a driving-record background check are required.
• Dependable.
• Able to work well under supervision and independently.
• Able to work outside in all types of weather.
• Must successfully complete Campus Safety’s online driver safety training before driving on campus.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in landscaping maintenance.
• Experience with lawn maintenance equipment listed above.

Responsibilities
