About The Position

St. Ann’s Community is hiring a full-time Grounds Assistant to float between its Irondequoit and Webster campuses. The role assists the Grounds Leader or Facilities Manager with routine maintenance and construction or refurbishing projects involving the community and grounds. The position pays $16.00–$19.65 per hour and requires reliable transportation between the two locations. On-call and weekend availability is required during the winter months.

Requirements

• Valid New York State driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of related experience or training in construction and/or maintenance repair, preferably in lawn and landscaping.
• Reliable transportation between the Irondequoit and Webster campuses.
• On-call and weekend availability during winter months.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior mechanics with equipment and machinery overhauls, requisitioning and installing parts under supervision.
• Observe the facility for areas needing repair or cleaning; perform the work when possible or report issues to supervisory staff for immediate action or scheduling.
• Shovel and plow snow as required.
• Mow, seed, rake, water, fertilize and weed lawns.
• Plant, transplant and prune trees, shrubbery and flowers.
• Pick up the grounds as required.
