Grounds Maintenance Technician (Full-Time)

About The Position

Massanutten Resort’s Grounds Department is seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven Grounds Technician to perform basic landscaping and snow-removal work safely and efficiently, with little or no supervision. Duties include mowing, weed eating, mulching, cutting and stacking firewood, and operating snowplow trucks and other snow-removal equipment. Snow-removal work includes clearing parking lots, roads, sidewalks, and driveways, and applying salt, sand, or other de-icing materials as directed. The role requires working outdoors in various conditions and good communication skills. This is full-time, year-round work at one location, with a four-day workweek and weekends off according to a rotating two-week schedule. Weekends may be required as needed, and overtime may be needed. The hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Pay is $13.00 per hour.

Requirements

Dependable.
Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good driving record.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Perform basic landscape functions safely and efficiently on assigned areas with little or no supervision.
Operate a mower and weed eater to maintain necessary areas.
Mow, weed eat, and mulch grounds.
Cut and stack firewood.
Operate snow-removal trucks, plows, and other snow-removal equipment as needed.
Clear snow from parking lots, roads, sidewalks, and driveways.
Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing materials as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
