About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Grounds Crew - Helper in Decatur, Alabama. The Helper assists skilled workers with assigned duties and performs a variety of tasks. This is a non-exempt role reporting to the Foreman. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures and are checked frequently. Employees may be reassigned as project work progresses. Compensation is determined based on individual qualifications and experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferably six months of experience in the specified skill.
Ability to focus on the task at hand without being distracted.
Complete a post-offer drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation, and sign acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
Read and sign off on the JSA before starting the shift.

Nice To Haves

Six months of experience in the specified skill is preferred.
Crane certification may be required to operate the crane when assigned.

Responsibilities

Read and sign off on the JSA before starting the shift.
Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel; touch up paint; and pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, or other materials.
Handle building materials and lift and carry pipe, fittings, and other materials throughout the facility.
Fix flats and change tires on trailers and mobile equipment.
Assist with tools and equipment, including welding-machine setup, crane rigging, and tightening headstocks.
Operate the crane if certified and required.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.
Comply with company and client job-site safety requirements.
