About The Position

The Grounds Crew member maintains assigned morning sections, picks up leaves and trash, weeds, reports irrigation breaks to the landscape director, and supports other duties throughout the property. The role follows The Gasparilla Inn’s service standards, core values, and safety guidelines for power-tool use. It requires attention to detail, strong communication and working relationships with leads and the director, and the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.

The position is on site at The Gasparilla Inn and Club in Boca Grande, Florida, and reports to the Grounds Assistant Manager, Grounds Manager, and VP of Facilities. It is non-exempt, has no on-call requirement, and does not require travel. Work takes place in an office setting and in various areas of the property, with little exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Employees must be able to safely drive a golf cart and may transport equipment or guest items weighing approximately 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety when using power tools.
• Attention to detail in morning sections.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with leads and the director.
• Ability to exert physical effort and endure substantial physical movement throughout the day.
• Ability to bend, twist, kneel, push, and pull.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit and stand, with standing required 95% of the time.
• Ability to communicate verbally and by hearing.
• Ability to see the work area and perform the job accurately.
• Ability to safely drive a golf cart.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned morning sections.
• Pick up leaves and trash and perform weeding.
• Alert the landscape director to irrigation breaks.
• Support other duties throughout the property.
