About The Position

The Crew Leader oversees grounds operations to promote efficiency and productivity. The role monitors laborers, maintenance workers, and equipment operators to ensure assignments are completed properly and safely. It also inspects and performs routine and preventive maintenance on properties, facilities, and equipment to keep them in working condition. The position performs and assists with carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and other grounds, equipment, and facility upkeep. Grounds work includes maintaining parks through mowing, trimming, edging, tree staking and planting, landscape and flowerbed maintenance, aerating, seeding, fertilizing, tree and limb removal, drainage work, herbicide application as needed, and trash removal. The Crew Leader also maintains athletic courts and fields for safe public use and assists with assigning daily crew schedules.

Requirements

Associate degree or a minimum of two years of work-related experience in facilities maintenance with an emphasis on grounds maintenance; an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience is acceptable.
Valid driver's license.
Valid CDL, Class B or higher, pesticide license, CPR/First Aid, and Playground Inspector certifications must be obtained within 11 months of hire.
