About The Position

The Groundperson supports a utility line clearance crew by assisting crew members working aloft and helping keep work areas safe and clean. The role includes handling ropes, supplying tools, managing pedestrian and road traffic, and processing brush and wood. This is a permanent, full-time, onsite position with travel expectations of up to 25%.

Requirements

A driver’s license is required.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
A pesticide license is required if required by state law.
A line clearance certification is required if working near utility transmission lines.
Willingness to obtain ISA Certified Tree Worker certification, if not already certified.

Nice To Haves

Commercial driver’s license; it may be required depending on job requirements.
Herbicide license.
ISA Certified Tree Worker certification.

Responsibilities

Support other crew members by controlling lowering ropes, limbs, and persons from aloft.
Supply tools to tree workers.
Control road and sidewalk traffic as needed using warning devices and other methods.
Cut, chip, and load brush and wood, and properly clean up the job site.
