About The Position

The Groundman supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission and distribution systems. Working alongside linemen, the Groundman prepares and organizes tools, equipment, and materials, follows safety protocols, and performs physically demanding on-site work. The role requires coordination with team members to support efficient workflows and timely project completion, helping maintain reliable electrical infrastructure across California.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding labor, including safely climbing poles and ladders.
• Proven experience or training using hand tools and performing basic construction or utility work.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Willingness to wear and comply with safety equipment requirements, such as hard hats.
• Legal authorization to work in California.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in electrical transmission or utility line support roles.
• Familiarity with transmission systems and utility industry safety standards.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and terminology.
• OSHA safety training certification or equivalent.
• Ability to operate additional equipment, such as power tools or machinery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize tools, equipment, and materials for electrical transmission and distribution work.
• Perform physical labor, including climbing utility poles and ladders, to support installation and repair activities.
• Use hand tools, such as hammers, and other equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety regulations and wearing required protective gear, such as hard hats.
