About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Groomer at Peachtree Pets to provide grooming services and a safe, compassionate experience for each animal. The role includes styling pets according to owner preferences or breed standards, performing basic hygiene services, bathing dogs or coordinating with bathers, and communicating with pet parents about grooming and coat care. Groomers keep their workstations and tools in good condition and assist the front desk with pets ready for pickup. The position offers flexible scheduling and either hourly pay during the first 60 days or commission-based pay from the start. Commission is 50%, or 40% when working with a bather; basic baths are paid at 30% commission, if applicable. Professional grooming experience is required. The role reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

• Professional grooming experience is required.
• Proven experience grooming a wide range of breeds and coat types.
• Time management, attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset.
• Familiarity with pet behavior, stress signals, and safe handling practices.
• Clear communication with clients, teammates, and pets.
• Reliability, composure under pressure, and willingness to keep learning.
• A love of animals and commitment to treating each one with care.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and safely manage large or nervous dogs.
• Ability to work in a physically active environment with heat, cold, water, and noise; exposure to fur, cleaning chemicals, wet dogs, accidents, and unpredictable activity is expected.

Responsibilities

• Snip, shape, and style pets based on owner preferences or breed standards.
• Trim nails, clean ears, brush teeth, and perform other grooming and hygiene tasks.
• Bathe dogs or work with bathers to prepare pets for grooming.
• Discuss grooming needs, coat care, and trends with pet parents.
• Keep the grooming station neat and tools sharp.
• Assist the front desk when pets are ready for pickup.
• Provide a calm, kind, and safe experience for every animal in care.
• Represent Destination Pet’s values of compassion, quality, and community.
