Bather (Flexible Working Hours)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring a Bather at Barkefeller's South to provide bathing and grooming-preparation services for dogs. The role involves hands-on, on-your-feet work in a pet care salon, with exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. The Bather works with the grooming team and may also help with guest check-ins and phone calls. Experience with animals is helpful but not required; training is provided. Friday and Saturday availability is required, as is availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requirements
- A love of pets and comfort working with dogs.
- Time management, patience, and a positive attitude.
- Reliability and coachability.
- Ability to work independently or as part of the grooming team.
- Comfort using phones, computers, and facility software.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift and frequently stand, walk, and climb stairs.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, including Friday and Saturday.
- Ability to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with animals; training is available for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with animal behavior, coat types, or grooming preparation.
Responsibilities
- Bathe dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities with kindness and care.
- Blow-dry, brush, and prepare dogs for grooming appointments.
- Trim nails and brush teeth after training.
- Assist groomers with tasks such as holding dogs, fetching items, and fluffing coats.
- Take dogs outside for potty breaks.
- Keep the salon clean, sanitized, and ready for guests.
- Wash, stack, and prepare towels.
- Notify the front desk when dogs are ready to go home.
- Help with check-ins or phone calls when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
