Dog Bather (Flexible Working Hours)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring a Dog Bather at Club Fetch to provide bathing and grooming-preparation care for dogs. The role involves hands-on work in a pet salon, helping dogs feel cared for while supporting groomers and keeping the facility clean and ready for guests. The position is physically active and requires working on your feet throughout shifts, frequent standing, walking, and stair climbing, and the ability to lift more than 50 pounds. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required. The work includes exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Experience with animals is helpful but not required; training is available for the right candidate. Pay starts at $12–$13 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips. Requirements
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.
- Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift and to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; weekend availability is specifically required.
- Comfort using phones, computers, and facility software.
- Time management, patience, and a positive attitude.
- Reliability, coachability, and ability to work independently or as part of the grooming team.
- A calm approach when working with animals.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with animals; training is available for candidates without it.
- Familiarity with animal behavior, coat types, or grooming preparation.
Responsibilities
- Bathe dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities with kindness and care.
- Blow-dry, brush, and prepare dogs for grooming appointments.
- Trim nails and brush teeth after training.
- Assist groomers with tasks such as holding, fetching, and fluffing.
- Take dogs outside for potty breaks.
- Keep the salon clean, sanitized, and ready for guests.
- Wash and prepare towels for use.
- Notify the front desk when dogs are ready to go home.
- Help with check-ins or phone calls when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
