About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring a Bather at Barkefellers West to bathe and prepare dogs for grooming appointments while helping provide a positive experience for pets and their families. The role involves hands-on work with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments, as well as supporting groomers and keeping the salon clean and ready for guests. This is a physically active position that requires standing for the duration of a shift, frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs, and lifting more than 50 pounds. The job involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Candidates must be available to work between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.; availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is also required. Sunday and Monday availability is preferred. Bathers should be comfortable bathing eight or more dogs daily. Requirements

Experience working with animals is a plus but is not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.
Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds.

Must be comfortable bathing eight or more dogs daily.
Must have time-management skills, patience, and a positive attitude.
Must be reliable, coachable, and able to work independently or as part of the grooming team.
Must be comfortable using phones, computers, and facility software.
Must be comfortable with exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.

Familiarity with animal behavior, coat types, or grooming preparation.
Sunday and Monday availability is preferred.

Responsibilities

Bathe dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities with kindness and care.
Blow-dry, brush, and prepare dogs for grooming appointments.
Trim nails and brush teeth after training.
Assist groomers with tasks such as holding dogs, fetching items, and fluffing coats.
Take dogs outside for potty breaks.
Keep the salon clean, sanitized, and ready for guests.
Wash and organize towels.
Notify the front desk when dogs are ready to go home.
Help with check-ins or phone calls when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
