About The Position

The Grocery Retail Associate (Store Clerk) supports daily store operations and delivers a positive shopping experience. The role includes cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and assisting customers throughout the store. The Associate is responsible for assigned duties that support daily operations, customer service, and company standards, works under the direction of store or department leadership, and has no supervisory or managerial authority. Employees may be asked to perform additional tasks or duties as assigned to support business needs. The position requires adherence to a uniform dress code.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to reach, bend, balance, lift, and carry items weighing 20–50 pounds regularly; items weighing more than 50 pounds require a coordinated team lift.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, and twist for extended periods.
• Ability to push and pull carts and equipment.
• Ability to work with exposure to cold, heat, and cleaning chemicals.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Prior retail or grocery experience.
• Cash handling or POS experience.
• Ability to tailor messaging to the needs of diverse customers and team members.
• Initiative and ability to complete work with speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate a cash register accurately and follow checkout and cash-handling procedures for cash, credit/debit, EBT, WIC, gift cards, coupons, and checks.
• Provide excellent customer service, address complaints and feedback effectively, and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Report to scheduled shifts on time and prepared to work.
• Stock and rotate merchandise in grocery, frozen, dairy, meat, and produce departments.
• Assist with unloading delivery trucks and organizing products.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized conditions in the sales floor, restrooms, backroom, displays, and parking lot.
• Retrieve shopping carts and maintain entrance areas.
• Ensure proper product signage, pricing, and display standards.
• Support other departments and complete additional duties as assigned.
• Adhere to the uniform dress code.
