Full-Time Grocery Receiver
About The Position
Kimberton Whole Foods in Wyomissing is hiring a full-time Grocery Receiver. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week: Monday through Wednesday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., and Thursday and Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. The hourly pay is $18.00–$20.00, depending on experience. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The Grocery Receiver provides service to customers, team members, and delivery drivers while receiving, inspecting, organizing, and rotating incoming grocery stock. The role also supports the Grocery Team with stocking, back stocking, and other projects, and helps maintain a clean, safe, and organized back stock area. The work is active and primarily involves standing and walking. It requires regularly handling cold products and working in cold areas such as coolers, freezers, and the back stock area. Physical tasks include lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50–75 pounds frequently, as well as stooping, squatting, kneeling, and using vision, hearing, and smell for product checks and communication.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous work in a retail or warehouse environment, with experience in receiving and inventory management.
- Enthusiasm for customer service and a cheerful, positive attitude.
- Effective communication skills and a team-player approach.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
- Ability to adjust pace to volume, time, and temperature demands.
- Diligence about workplace safety.
- Full range of vision, hearing, and smell for reading labels, distinguishing color, checking product quality, and communicating.
- Ability to frequently lift, grip, and carry items weighing up to 50–75 pounds.
- Ability to stoop, squat, and kneel to retrieve boxes from shelving and carts.
- Ability to walk short distances to bring items from different areas and to stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to work in cold environments, including coolers, freezers, and back stock areas, and handle cold products for extended periods on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to customers, team members, and delivery drivers.
- Unload and organize incoming Grocery Department deliveries efficiently and in a timely manner, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Assist the Grocery Team with stocking, back stocking, and other projects as needed.
- Inspect deliveries to verify product quality and condition meet Kimberton Whole Foods standards.
- Match invoice details to delivered products and make corrections or returns as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the back stock area, prioritizing safety.
