About The Position

C.A. Fortune is hiring a full-time Grocery Merchandiser to manage an assigned territory covering the South Suburbs and Northwest Indiana, based in Chicago Heights, Illinois, within a 40–60 mile radius. The role involves visiting grocery stores, completing surveys and audits, merchandising products, and using provided technology to take photos and submit reports. The merchandiser will sell products, gain and maintain distribution, ensure products are stocked and accurately represented, and place orders when products are unavailable or running low. The position involves switching throughout the day between stocking, reporting, and communicating with store teams, working independently with minimal supervision, and following directions. It requires regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, sometimes for extended periods. The position is 32–36 hours per week and pays $18–$20 per hour based on experience, qualifications, and skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive to stores in the assigned territory.
• Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
• Reliable phone (within five years old) with service and internet access for daily communication.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions independently.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift regularly throughout the day, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced retail environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage the assigned territory by completing store visits, surveys, tasks, and audits at grocery stores.
• Sell and merchandise products, and gain and maintain product distribution in assigned accounts.
• Build strong relationships with store teams.
• Order products and work new orders onto store shelves; ensure client products are well stocked and order when inventory is low or unavailable.
• Verify that client products are accurately represented on store shelves.
• Travel between store locations within the designated territory.
• Use mobile apps and provided technology for reporting, photo uploads, task completion, and communication.
• Maintain a safe working environment in stores and comply with store team guidelines.
• Maintain a professional appearance and follow dress code and attendance guidelines.
• Attend client kickoff video calls and team check-ins as required.
