About The Position

C.A. Fortune is hiring a full-time Grocery Merchandiser to manage an assigned territory in the Chicago, Illinois area, within a 40–60 mile radius. The role is 40 hours per week and pays $20 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The merchandiser sells and promotes products, builds and maintains distribution, and ensures client products are stocked and accurately represented on store shelves. When products are out of stock or running low, the merchandiser places orders and works new product orders onto shelves.

The role involves visiting grocery stores, conducting audits and surveys, completing assigned tasks, taking photographs, and submitting reports using mobile apps and other provided technology. The merchandiser works independently with minimal supervision, follows directions, communicates with store teams, and switches between stocking, reporting, and communication tasks throughout the day. Travel between stores in the assigned territory is required.

This is a physically active position in a fast-paced retail environment. It requires regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds. The employee must maintain a safe working environment, professional appearance, and compliance with dress code, attendance expectations, and store or client guidelines. Attendance at client kickoff video calls and team check-ins is required as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive to stores in the assigned territory.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proof of automobile insurance.
• Reliable phone no more than five years old, with phone service and internet service for daily communication.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions independently.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to switch between stocking, reporting, and communicating with store teams throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail, sales, or merchandising experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the assigned territory by completing store visits, surveys, audits, and tasks.
• Sell and merchandise products and gain or maintain product distribution in assigned accounts.
• Build strong relationships with store teams.
