About The Position

The Grocery Manager oversees the daily operations of the Grocery Department, with responsibility for customer service, sales, profitability, department readiness, in-stock conditions, accurate pricing, and merchandising standards. This is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role focused on supporting associates and providing customers with a full, fresh, and well-organized department.

The manager leads grocery associates by hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and developing the team. The role requires flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, reliable attendance, and compliance with company safety policies and the Code of Business Conduct. Physical duties include lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying products and working in coolers and freezers. Travel is not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Grocery Department operations, focusing on customer service, sales, and department readiness.
• Provide friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
• Keep shelves, displays, and aisles clean, full, front-faced, and merchandised to company standards.
• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly-ad merchandising.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization.
• Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards.
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment.
• Analyze sales, labor, and inventory data to drive results.
