About The Position

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor established quality assurance standards. Requirements

Must be 18 or older.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Effective communication skills.
Knowledge of basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction.

Nice To Haves

Retail experience.
Ability to speak, read, and/or write in a second language.

Responsibilities

Promote trust and respect among associates and maintain a positive attitude.
Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
Maintain knowledge of department products and answer questions or make product suggestions.
Offer product samples to help customers discover products.
Inform customers of grocery specials.
Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered.
Recommend grocery items to help customers find the products they want and need.
Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates, taking appropriate action.
Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs.
Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying store management.
Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager when repairs are needed.
Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
Report safety risks or issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
