About The Position

The Grocery Department Manager oversees daily Grocery Department operations, driving sales and profitability while ensuring strong in-stock conditions, accurate pricing, customer service, and high merchandising standards. This is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role with direct impact on store success and the customer shopping experience.

The manager supports associates and maintains a full, fresh, and well-organized department. Responsibilities include merchandising execution, inventory and ordering, shrink control, operational compliance, and hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and developing associates. The position requires flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, reliable attendance, and compliance with company safety policies and the Code of Business Conduct. Travel requirements are none.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Grocery Department operations, focusing on customer service, sales, and department readiness.
• Deliver friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
• Ensure shelves, displays, and aisles are clean, full, front-faced, and merchandised to company standards.
• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization.
• Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards.
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment.
