Grocery Department Manager
About The Position
The Grocery Department Manager oversees the department’s daily operations, with a focus on customer service, sales, profitability, in-stock conditions, accurate pricing, merchandising standards, and department readiness. This is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role that supports associates and helps ensure customers find a full, fresh, clean, and well-organized department. The manager leads grocery merchandising and promotional execution, oversees ordering and inventory, monitors shrink, and ensures compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards. The role also includes hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and developing grocery associates. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required. Travel is not required.
Requirements

- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry products and work in coolers and freezers.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable attendance and compliance with company safety policies and Code of Business Conduct.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Grocery Department operations, focusing on customer service, sales, and department readiness.
- Provide friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
- Keep shelves, displays, and aisles clean, full, front-faced, and merchandised to company standards.
- Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising.
- Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization.
- Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards.
- Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment.
- Analyze sales, labor, and inventory data to drive results.
