Responsibilities

• Help customers discover products, provide information about food specials, and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
• Provide customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
• Check product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and special advertisements.
• Follow food safety regulations and guidelines; maintain proper case and cooler temperatures and temperature logs.
• Maintain knowledge of department products and answer customer questions or make suggestions.
• Help create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products throughout the department and store.
• Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management.
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance needs and notify the appropriate manager when repairs are needed.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
• Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity; follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
