About The Position

Under general supervision, the Grocery Associate helps maintain a smooth-running grocery department by stocking and maintaining grocery displays and assisting customers with grocery-related needs. The role is based at the Livonia location in Livonia, Michigan, and is part-time. Westborn Market is a third-generation, family-owned and operated business with four locations across Metro Detroit. The company emphasizes quality goods, superior service, and strong relationships with customers and team members.

Requirements

• Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level applicable to the position.
• Ability to bend, lift, and reach repetitively.
• Ability to handle average-weight objects up to 25 pounds, or to stand and/or walk for more than four hours per day.
• Follow basic safety precautions in a work environment involving some exposure to hazards or physical risks.

Responsibilities

• Stock and rotate grocery merchandise to maintain quality and freshness.
• Maintain current knowledge of products.
• Take inventory of back-stock and floor merchandise.
• Ensure displays and shelves have appropriate signage and assist with making signs when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area free of hazards.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Follow Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy.
• Perform other job-related duties and follow job-related instructions as assigned.
