About The Position

Under general supervision, the Grocery Associate helps maintain a smooth-running grocery department by stocking and maintaining grocery displays and assisting customers with grocery-related needs. The role reports to the Grocery Manager and is non-exempt.

Westborn Market is a third-generation-owned and operated business that began in 1963 and has four locations across Metro Detroit. The company emphasizes quality goods, superior service, and strong relationships with customers and team members.

Requirements

• Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level applicable to the position.
• Ability to bend, lift, and reach repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Stock and rotate grocery merchandise to assure quality and freshness.
• Maintain current knowledge of products.
• Take inventory of back-stock and floor merchandise.
• Ensure displays and shelves have appropriate signage and assist with making signs when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area free of hazards.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Abide by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
