Grain Elevator Operator - 2nd Shift

About The Position

The Grain Elevator Operator performs hands-on grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading. The role monitors stored grain conditions and maintains and cleans grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for the operator and fellow Team Members. Operators are cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks. The position is located in Kansas City, Kansas, and pays $25.00 per hour and up. The schedule is second shift: 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with overtime as needed, including weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Reliable transportation.
For safety reasons, ability to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
Availability to work overtime and weekends.
Professional demeanor, including safety consciousness, quality job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communication.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Ability to work in tight and confined spaces and at heights.
Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
Ability to ascend and descend ladders.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

Receive, store, handle, dry, blend, and load grain.
Monitor the condition of stored grain.
Maintain and clean grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment.
Perform a variety of tasks as part of cross-training.
