About The Position

Bartlett is hiring a hands-on Grain Elevator Operator in Sheffield, Illinois. The role involves receiving, storing, handling, drying, blending, and loading grain, as well as monitoring stored grain conditions and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment. Operators are cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks. The job handles bulk commodities such as wheat, corn, and soybeans and uses grain-handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Reliable transportation.
For safety reasons, able to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
Available to work overtime and weekends.
Professional demeanor, including safety consciousness, quality job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communication.
Able to pass a criminal background check.
Able to work in tight and confined spaces and at heights.
Able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
Able to ascend and descend ladders.
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

Receive, store, handle, dry, blend, and load grain.
Monitor the condition of stored grain.
Maintain and clean grain facilities and equipment.
Perform a variety of tasks through cross-training.
