About The Position

Bartlett is hiring a hands-on Grain Elevator Operator in Sheffield, Illinois. The role involves receiving, storing, handling, drying, blending, and loading grain, monitoring stored grain conditions, and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to help provide a safe environment. Operators are cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks. The position pays $21 per hour and up and is scheduled for second shift, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with ample overtime, including weekends. Work involves bulk commodities such as wheat, corn, and soybeans, and grain-handling equipment, primarily conveyors and legs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
• Availability to work overtime and weekends.
• Professional demeanor, including safety consciousness, quality job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communication.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to work in tight and confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
• Ability to ascend and descend ladders.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, handle, dry, blend, and load grain.
• Monitor the condition of stored grain.
• Maintain and clean grain facilities and equipment.
• Perform a variety of tasks through cross-training.
• Help maintain a safe environment for yourself and fellow Team Members.
