King County’s Facility Management Division is seeking a graduate intern to support digitizing its collection of architectural drawings and related records. This collection is essential to the division’s work and the intern will work closely with the division’s Information and Records Manager to improve its accessibility and usability. The intern will work on all stages of the digitization project, from carefully sorting physical records to accurately entering meta data. They will also help establish and document processes to maintain the digital and physical collections. The intern will have opportunities to: Identify architectural drawings and construction project records and work with historical documents, Gain hands-on experience with content management software and other specialized computer applications, Develop project management skills and build relationships with project stakeholders, Learn Records Management principles, policy and law in local government, and learn about the work that FMD does.
