The Graduate Hall Coordinator (GHC) is a live-in, 12-month graduate staff member responsible for supporting the operational and programmatic functions of assigned residential communities. This is a developmental position intended to provide practical professional experience in residential operations, staff supervision, student development, and crisis response. Barry University Resident Assistants who have demonstrated strong performance and leadership are encouraged to apply upon entering graduate school as part of the department’s intentional professional development and pipeline model. The GHC directly supervises Desk Assistants and provides programmatic support to Resident Assistants under the oversight of the Area Coordinator; the GHC does not carry direct supervisory authority over Resident Assistants. Total weekly hours shall not exceed 20 hours under any circumstances, including on-call weeks. GHCs participate in an on-call rotation and serve as essential personnel during university-declared emergencies. Evening and weekend work is regularly required. GHCs may not hold more than 20 hours of additional external commitments including employment, internships, athletics, or organizational involvement.
