About The Position

Under the leadership of the Dean of Graduate Studies, the Coordinator conducts outreach and advises individuals seeking a post-baccalaureate degree and supports graduate programming. The Coordinator positively engages and impacts potential and currently enrolled post-baccalaureate students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in one of the behavioral sciences, education, public or business administration, or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in a student services program areas required.
  • Demonstrate commitment to serving diverse student populations with understanding of the unique needs of under-served groups.
  • Strong "customer service" skills for welcoming and assisting users of the center.
  • Ability to negotiate and prioritize across multiple Graduate Center-related tasks.
  • Strong computer skills, including ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Knowledgeable in graduate admission requirements and college career patterns.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
  • Valid CA Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

  • Offer information pertaining to admission requirements and procedures to post-bac programs and general program completion requirements.
  • Support in the organization and promotion of Graduate Center events and programming.
  • Attend on and off-campus fairs to promote grad programs.
  • Support with oversight of Graduate Center graduate assistants and student workers.
