About The Position

GHD is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer – Roads to join its US West Design and Delivery Organization. The role supports roadway, active transportation, and infrastructure projects from concept through final design, including highways, interchanges, local roads, roundabouts, trails, active transportation facilities, bridges, and other infrastructure improvements. Although the description references the Santa Rosa team, it states that the position will be based in GHD’s Roseville office and connected with project teams across the West Region, with a focus on California. GHD’s hybrid work model requires working in the Roseville office three days per week.

The engineer will contribute to roadway and transportation design, planning, safety studies, traffic engineering, and operational analyses. They will work with engineers, designers, and project managers, completing assignments under the guidance of senior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0–2 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certificate.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway and transportation design tasks from preliminary design through final plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Prepare geometric layouts, alignments, profiles, typical cross-sections, exhibits, and supporting design documentation.
• Assist with construction cost estimates, technical reports, design memoranda, and other project deliverables.
• Assist with transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies, and traffic engineering studies.
• Collect, compile, and analyze traffic, roadway, highway, and crash history data to support project recommendations.
• Assist with operational analyses for intersections, corridors, and interchanges.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to complete assignments accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards.
• Collaborate with team members, communicate clearly, pay attention to detail, and complete work under the guidance of senior staff.
