About The Position

GHD’s US West Design and Delivery Organization is seeking a motivated Graduate Civil Engineer – Roads to support transportation and infrastructure projects from concept through final design. The role supports highways, interchanges, local roads, roundabouts, trails, active transportation facilities, bridges, and other infrastructure improvements, with project teams across the West Region and a focus on California. The posting identifies the position as based in Santa Rosa, CA, and also states that it will be based in the Roseville office.

The engineer will contribute to roadway and transportation design, planning, safety, and traffic engineering work, collaborating with engineers, designers, and project managers. Work is completed under the guidance of senior staff. GHD’s hybrid model requires working from the Roseville office three days per week.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0–2 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Possession of an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certificate.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Support roadway and transportation design from preliminary design through final plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Prepare geometric layouts, alignments, profiles, typical cross-sections, exhibits, and supporting design documentation.
• Develop construction cost estimates, technical reports, design memoranda, and other project deliverables.
• Assist with transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies, traffic engineering studies, and operational analyses for intersections, corridors, and interchanges.
• Collect, compile, and analyze traffic, roadway, highway, and crash-history data to support project recommendations.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to complete assignments accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards.
• Collaborate with team members, communicate clearly, learn, maintain attention to detail, and complete work under senior staff guidance.
