The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a Graduate Assistant for TRIO/McNair. They will be responsible for managing the data entry of workshops and events, maintaining student records, scanning and filing documents into student folders, and serve as a resource for McNair Scholars. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. The position pays $8,000/ year if taking 9 hours per semester (full-time) and $4,000 or less/ year if taking less than fulltime hours.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at UA Little Rock and regular admission to Graduate School
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Strong oral, listening, and written communication skills
  • Evidence of skills and ability to utilize technology
  • Experience working in a team environment with a collective focus
  • Ability to work independently to achieve goals
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Detail-oriented

Nice To Haves

  • Previous office/customer service experience
  • Previous experience with student services
  • Understanding and commitment to the mission and objectives of McNair

Responsibilities

  • Manage the data entry of workshops and events
  • Manage student announcements and alerts
  • Act as a resource for McNair Scholars
  • Maintain student records and file documents into student folders
  • Assist office staff with promoting events and activities
  • Assist staff with managing student applications and required documents
  • Other duties as assigned by McNair Director
