About the position
FEV Tutor is seeking an ELA Curriculum Developer to create student-facing and tutor-facing language, vocabulary, grammar, and mechanics lessons for grades 3-5. The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of instructional best practices in literacy, the ability to break down complex subjects into engaging and student-friendly language, and the motivation to work in a flexible and fast-paced environment. This is a remote contract position that requires a bachelor's degree in education or a related field, 2+ years of relevant experience in ELA curriculum development, familiarity with CCSS and other state-specific ELA standards, and experience working remotely.
Responsibilities
- Develop ELA lessons based on the scope and sequence using a lesson template on Google Slides
- Create lessons using a combination of standards-aligned items from the item bank and writing original standards-aligned questions
- Provide robust instructional guides for tutors
- Follow project plan timelines for submitting and revising lessons via Wrike (project management and communication tool)
- Meet regularly with FEV Tutor's Literacy Specialist for planning and feedback sessions and integrate feedback into ELA lessons
Requirements
- Literacy specialists with deep knowledge of grades 3-5 language-vocabulary, grammar-mechanics, and essay editing instructional best practices
- Content writers able to break down complex subjects into engaging, clear, concise, and student-friendly language
- Self-motivated workers who have the ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in education or a directly related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience with 3rd-5th grade ELA curriculum development
- Familiar with CCSS and other state-specific ELA standards and instructional methods
- Experience with MS Office, Google Drive
- Experience working remotely
