About The Position

Applied Materials is seeking a GPS Engineer to develop procedures, service methods, training, and technical documentation for new products. The role supports product build and test, issue resolution, manufacturing and quality processes, field issue analysis, and preparation for customer shipments. The engineer works with teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality & Reliability, AGS, and Global Technical Training, and trains Customer Engineers, Process Engineers, and Technical Product Support personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop new procedures and Best Known Methods (BKMs) to service new products.
• Contribute to the FMECA process.
• Participate in or own first chamber Build & Test in the Apps lab.
• Resolve issues or work with Engineering to address identified issues.
• Work with Manufacturing to develop procedures and participate in New Product final testing when required.
• Partner with the Quality & Reliability group to review and address Top Field Issues.
• Participate in or own the CAPA process.
• Conduct or facilitate Failure Analysis when needed.
• Develop and document procedures to install, retrofit, and maintain products, including Technical Product Manuals.
• Develop procedures, Customer Engineering Notices, Internal Service Bulletins, and troubleshooting guides as required.
• Collect process and qualification data to create product Best Known Methods.
• Develop initial training packages for new products and work with Global Technical Training to develop training classes.
• Train Customer Engineers, Process Engineers, and Technical Product Support assigned to customers receiving ELS shipments before shipping.
• Identify new parts that need to be stocked by AGS and work with the group to ensure parts are stocked in the correct locations.
