About The Position
The Governmental Affairs Commissioner serves as the primary liaison between Student Government and governmental stakeholders. This position advocates for student interests and supports legislative and public policy efforts. This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Requirements
- Must be a UND student
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
- Interest in government and policy
- Strong communication skills
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
- This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with government officials and partners
- Represent student interests on public policy issues
- Coordinate legislative advocacy efforts
- Assist with testimony and policy development
- Monitor issues impacting students
